TORCH LAKE BOAT RENTAL AND PONTOON RENTAL INFORMATION AND POLICIES
MAKING A RESERVATION::
When calling to reserve a boat rental we require a name, home address, mobile number (if possible) and credit card information. A deposit of a full day's rental is needed to secure a reservation. We do accept all major credit cards. Once your reservation is secure we will mail you the following: confirmation letter, rental agreement, credit card receipt, and our rental policies and procedures.
DAY OF RESERVATION:
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. Our marina opens at 9:00AM. When you arrive please have the driver come into our office where we will finalize paperwork. While this is happening we ask that you have your party gather at our fire pit with all your belongings so that you will be ready to board your watercraft when called. The restrooms are adjacent to the fire pit and this would be a good time to have everyone use the facilities if necessary.
Once your rental is lowered into the water your party will be called over to board. At this time a member of our staff will be on the boat to go over procedures, give instructions, point out the equipment and functions and answer any questions you may have.
MULTI DAY RENTAL:
We do offer multiple day discounts if you choose to rent a watercraft for 3 or more days (NOT VALID ON HOLIDAYS). If this is your preference you may either: 1) return the watercraft to our marina at the end of the day (prior to the our scheduled closing time) so that we may be able to remove the rental from the water and place it back in the proper storage location OR 2) keep the watercraft with you overnight. If you choose to keep the watercraft with you; you must be able to provide proper moorage - anchor the boat off the shore with a mooring buoy OR have a lift available to lift the boat from the water. We do not allow for our rentals to be tied to a dock as the waves can cause damage to our boats and then you will be responsible for paying the damages incurred. We really do not want for this mistake to ruin anyone's vacation!!
Prior to placing a rental in the water we take pictures of the entire watercraft, inside and out. This is done for your protection and ours. Some things to keep in mind to avoid damage; when navigating the waterways watch the signs and stay in between the buoys, these buoys are in place to let drivers know the safest and deepest routes; prop damage is one of the most common issues we see - that can happen when the engine is running and the prop is all the way down in shallow water. If you notice that the water seems shallow we recommend raising the prop slightly while navigating to deeper water. Never raise the engine out of the water while the boat is running - this will result in a damaged motor which you will be charged for and that is just not fun for anyone! Other tips regarding parking: 1) If you wish to anchor at the sand bar it is best to use both the front and back anchor using the cleats on both ends of the boat, this will ensure the watercraft is secure, not spinning around and hitting other boats (or people!). 2) Do not park the rental boats against docks, rough waters and waves will cause the watercraft to crash and/or scrape against a dock, new fiberglass or a paint job are not cheap endeavors. Plus you may want to consider the downtime, you may be responsible for any rentals that our business loses out on while we repair the damage. With all this said, we hope that you will understand the seriousness of taking care of the rental that you are borrowing so we all can have a fantastic summer. After all no one wants to deal with damaged boats!!
We require a damage deposit on all our rentals on the day you arrive. Pontoons: $380.00. Ski Boats: 500.00. If you deliver the watercraft back free of damage, no worries, we will immediately refund your deposit. However, if there are damages...you'll be charged as we discussed in the above paragraph.
We do require at least a 14 day notice if you wish to cancel and receive a full refund. If you notify us within 14 - 4 days prior to your reservation date we do charge a $25.00 service fee. Less than a four day notice or a no-show will not be issued any refund. Inclement Weather: If on the day of arrival we are experiencing weather that management deems unsafe, we will issue full refunds. This is a call that can only be determined by management as we do not wish to send anyone out on waters if it is pouring rain or lightening is expected.
LATE FEES: A one day rental is for an 8 hour period. If you return your rental late you will be charged an additional $75.00/hour late fee. If your reservation is for a multi-day rental you must return the boat to us by close on your last day to avoid the $75.00/hour late fee.
GAS: You will start out with a full tank of gas. You are welcome to fill up before you bring the boat back or we will fill the gas tank when you return. Either way, you will be responsible to pay for the gas you use. That's only fair!
ACCESSORIES: We have tubes, skis, wake boards and knee boards available to rent. We do not require an advance notice but just let us know when you arrive to pick up your boat. The charge is $25.00 per day/ per item.
Now...what are you waiting for? Summer is short and our rentals fill quickly! Give us a call now to secure your reservation!
